The team aka, Stitches and Glue

A creative design house of freelance puppet, toy, prop, costume makers and designers working within the special FX industry in London, England.

Paul Vincett, the creator of Stitches and Glue, graduated with 1st class honors in Illustration. His work has always been heavily influenced by the allure of the handmade, which led him to pursue a career working within creature costumes and puppets.  As well as running his own company, Paul works as a freelance puppet/prop/costume designer and maker for Theatre and Film.

His puppet theatre work includes: His Dark Materials, Faeries at the Royal Opera House and the US touring show, El Gato Con Botas (Puss in Boots). This year Paul has been busy working for The National Theatre on the Queens Diamond Jubilee Salute and recently in the Costume Fabrication department on the Olympics Ceremonies. He is currently working as a puppet maker on Handsprings award winning War Horse.

On the big screen Paul has worked on recent films such as X-men; First Class, Tim Burton’s, Dark Shadows and most recently Thor 2.

Becky and Paul met across a workshop table whilst making a 10 foot Ogre puppet for an Opera in New York, this went onto win The New York Times’ Puppet of the Year 2010. They have been working together ever since, creating monsters for Stitches & Glue’s project: Monster Workshop, and puppets for stage shows and exhibitions.

Becky Johnson trained at The London College of Fashion and is now a fabricator of creature costumes, puppets and costumes.  Her film work includes The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Fred Claus, Hellboy 2, Sweeney Todd, Your Highness, The Wolfman, X-Men; First Class and most recently Dark Shadows.

Becky continues to work in Childrens TV, on shows such as ZingZillas, Me and My Monsters and Into the Night Garden, as well as theatre and live action shows such as the massive pilot fish seen in Lady GaGa’s Monster Tour.
